Woohoo! I finally got a chance to sit down and update the blog on our new addition…and realized I had to relearn how to download pictures! I think I have it figured out again.
Today was an exciting day for the Jamison girls. I have only dared to venture out with both girls by myself, a total of two times! Both times were quick trips to the grocery store, which reminds me…somebody really needs to invent a shopping cart that can seat a 2 year old and an infant, that actually works. When I go to the grocery store, I have 3 options available to me…none of them work. I can grab the giant grocery cart that has a giant toy car at the end of it for Peyton to ride in and then Lily can balance precariously on the front of the grocery cart, nevermind the lack of steering control you have over this thing. The second option is to use the stroller for Lily and let Peyton walk…which is a recipe for going insane…enough said. The third option, which I ended up doing both times, was to get the regular shopping cart, which just happens to be big enough for me to place Lily’s carseat in the basket where the food is suppose to go and to seat Peyton. Where does the food go when I do this? In the little storage shelf underneath the cart! Anyway, I got a little sidetracked there. Why was today exciting? I made a successful trip with both girls by myself to the doctor’s! Today was Lily’s one month checkup. The doctor said that everything looked great. She weighed in at a whole 10 lb, 6oz.! I was so shocked that she had gained so much in such a short period of time, that I asked the nurse if the scale was correct. She assured me it was. I then checked Peyton’s weight records, which I happen to still carry around with me in my wallet for some reason, she only weighed a little over 8 lb at her one month checkup. So I guess this means that nursing is going well
It also means that it’s time for Lily to move up a size in diapers
No more newborn diapers for her! We are moving on up to size 1!
Everybody should have gotten a picture of Lily with all of the information on it. But, in case I forgot someone…here she is, weighing in at 7 lbs, 8oz!

So, the questions is…who does she look like? Josh and I went back through some pictures of Peyton…and we’ve come to the conclusion that we need to label the baby pictures. We had a really hard time trying to remember which one was Lily and which one was Peyton! Do you think we’re kidding? See for yourself:
Are you able to tell which one is Peyton and which one is Lily? The first one is Lily, the second one is Peyton, the third one is Lily, and the fourth one is Peyton. Sorry Grammy, but I tried to find pictures that had similar poses for both girls.
Here are more pictures of Lily:
Lily’s first kiss from Peyton
I think one of more popular questions that I’ve been asked is how Peyton has been adjusting. It started off a little shaky, but she has adjusted well to the new addition. She has become quite the little helper, you know. Here is a scenario that has happened: Lily is crying for some food, I’m in the middle of making lunch, and the phone rings. I answer it, wishfully thinking that it might be Josh telling me he is on his way home, but instead it is some kind of telemarketer who doesn’t quite understand what no means. Here enters Peyton, who will walk up to me and repeatedly say “Momma, Lily’s crying”, until I verbally agree with her. On a more serious side, Peyton has really adjusted well. She has taken a liking to being a big girl and likes to “look after” Lily. She likes to check Lily’s feet to see if they are cold and will go get a receiving blanket to cover them up. She also loves to give Lily kisses, sometimes too many
If Lily begins to fuss, sometimes Peyton will go over to her and try to calm her down by gently stroking the top of her head and telling her “shh, aww it’s ok Lily”.
I think I’ve blogged enough for one day. I do have more pictures to put on here this week and hopefully I will be able to figure out how to upload video clips and get those on here as well
Until then, try to stay cool in all of this heat

Hey, Thanks for the pictures and the stories. They really help me to feel a little closer to you all.Sounds like Peyton’s doing a great job at being the big sister. Lily will be greatly blessed to have her as well as you. Keep up the awesome job your doing. Love Papa J.
